WEEK 11

The Skeleton of Every Page
web.selah-hcs.orgweb design for kids // html5 + css3one day academy
THIS WEEK'S JOB // Type the frame that every web page on earth stands on. (Book pages 79-88 in Mrs. Gaiser's book.)

THE THREE IDEAS

Tags come in pairs
An element opens and closes around its content, like brackets around a thought. The closing tag wears a slash.
The four bones
doctype says this is HTML5, html wraps everything, head holds information about the page, body holds what visitors see.
Nesting is boxes in boxes
Elements sit inside elements, never overlapping. Close the inner box before you close the outer one, every time.

TRY IT IN THE PAINT BOOTH

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
  <title>My First Page</title>
</head>
<body>
  Hello, Main Street!
</body>
</html>
